Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear friends of the Hellenic-German Youth Foundation,
It is a fact! The Hellenic-German Youth Foundation (HGYF) is a reality.
On April 1, 2021, HGYF begins its work in Leipzig and Thessaloniki to promote youth exchanges between Greece and Germany.
Many of you have contributed for many years to the cooperation and friendship between Germany and Greece, and we are grateful for this important preparatory work.
Now the work begins. In order to make the start as smooth as possible, we send you some information, as well as the financing instructions of HGYF and the standardized funding application form.
How does funding work?
Applications are submitted jointly by the collaborating bodies.
The application deadlines for the current year are April 30th and August 1st, 2021.
By way of derogation from Article 4.6 of the funding guidelines, in the first half of 2021 due to the change in funding for Germany between the special program of the BMFSFJ and the EGIN, projects that have already started but have not yet been completed may also be funded.
Applications for 2022 must be submitted by November 1, 2021.
Any remaining money can be requested within the second application deadline for the year 2022 until July 1, 2022.
Applications for school and sports exchanges (through the competent central body) are submitted to the Thessaloniki office, while applications for extracurricular exchanges (through the competent central body) are submitted to the Leipzig office.
Financing of “small business activities” according to 1.3.3 of the funding guidelines, including digital media, can be requested without the use of a specific form with a brief description of the project and a cost and financing plan without meeting the above submission deadlines applications.
For larger digital youth exchange programs, there is the possibility in 2021 to submit applications for co-financing by EGIN in the context of covering part of the funds of a limited program based on the cost and financing plan.
Every start is difficult, we will do our best to maintain our hope and move the Foundation forward in the difficult conditions of the pandemic.
