Official launch of the European Year of Youth 2022 in Greece

The official launch of the European Year of Youth 2022 (#EYY2022) took place today in Greece, which is among the first European countries to launch the events for #EYY2022, with the holding of the 1st hybrid meeting of the National Committee for the Planning, Implementation and Monitoring of the European Year of Youth 2022 project at the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
The launch of the European Year of Youth 2022 in the country was welcomed by the Secretary General for Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth, Dr. Georgios Voutsinos, who emphasised that through the co-design of the Year’s activities, the participation of young people from every geographical area will be targeted, paying particular attention to the participation of all, especially those who are not interested in public affairs, have not participated in any kind of programme in the past and the Year is an opportunity to provide them with the necessary means to participate in society, to express themselves and to be heard.
The National Committee of the European Year of Youth 2022 in Greece, coordinated by Ms. Konstantina Pisli, consists of Ministry officials, Mr. Spyridon Stamatopoulos, President of the Youth Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), Mr. Armodios Drikos, President of the Hellenic National Youth Council (H.N.Y.C.), Mr. Konstantinos Mamoulis, representative of the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM), Ms. Maria Nikitaki, representative of the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), Ms. Georgia Gkonou, representative of the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (E.E.T.A.A.), Ms. Olga Kyriakidou, representative of the Hellenic Youth Workers Association, as well as Mr. Haris Kountouros, Public Relations Officer in the European Parliament´s Information Office in Greece.
The composition of the Committee seeks to communicate directly and effectively the actions of #EYY2022 to the youth of the country.
